Welcome to my photography portfolio. Here you'll find the work I've created and find out what inspires me. I currently use a Canon EOS M50 Mark II to capture moments and bring the world to life. I enjoy street photography and shooting in black and white. I believe I take an emotional approach to my photography, which I see as a reflection of myself.

Title: Prom Night

Date: 17th December 2023

Camera: iPhone 14

Description: A photography project that reflects the emotions of a young woman on her prom night. I was inspired by early 2000s American high school movies, such as Mean Girls (2004). As it's such a pivotal event in the United states, there are so many different wways to capture teenage self-expression and human emotions before the beginning of adulthood.

Title: Basketball

Date: Monday 1st April 2024

Camera: Iphone 14

Description: Basketball and sports have been a big part of my life. I shot these photos before going to train and I wanted to capture my own personal style and personality.

The basketball with the animal print represents the drive and focus I have for the sport. It was a birthday gift and I  also think it's unique.

Title: An Evening in Kingston

Date: Friday 5th April 2024

Camera: Canon EOS M50 Mark II +15-45 mm

Description: A spontaneous and playful street photography project that highlights different aspects of my personality, as I spent the evening in Kingston, London. I edited the photos in Adobe Lightroom and used colour masking, monochrome presets and creative filters on my DSLR, such as 'toy camera', which offers a dark vignette and vintage, almost nostalgic feel.

Title: 'Mum'

Date: Sunday April 7th 2024

Camera: Canon EOS M50 Mark Kiss II + 15-45 mm+f/2.8

Edited with Adobe Lightroom

Description:  A collection of candid photos shot in black and white, which capture my mum's stylish, vibrant personality.

FUN FACT: I took these photos as I saw my mum getting ready to leave for church, I saw how dressed up she was and ran to get my camera.

Black Beauty (2024)

An ongoing photography project that highlights parts of my cultural African identity and experiences as a black woman wearing my natural hair. I will also be attending events, such as the Black Culture Market in Brixton to interview black business owners.

My photos will be featured in Cultural Essence magazine and part of a documentary 'Being Black and British'.

Photographer's and director's note: I am looking forward to the finished project. Living in London where there is such a huge African and Caribbean influence, I am so grateful to be able to capture these compelling stories.
